Another year, another successful LTC pharmacy conference. The AmplifyLTC Conference may be over, but the countless lessons, insights, and lightbulb moments are here to stay. Simply put, you had to be there.
For four days, the LTC pharmacy world came together to celebrate and evaluate the industry, looking at the present to see how we can shape an even better future. In that spirit, let’s look back to get ahead.
Here’s what you may have missed at this year’s AmplifyLTC Conference.
What better way to kick things off than NCPA’s Ronna Hauser and the host of the AmplifyLTC Podcast herself, Frances Nahas? Friday’s opening session covered various aspects of long-term care pharmacy, almost a preview of what attendees could expect in the following days. After starting on the right foot, the rest of the speakers were primed to dish out some LTC pharmacy wisdom — and they did not disappoint.

We all know it takes a village to run a successful pharmacy. Your pharmacy — and even your pharmacy software — is only as good as the people in it. Such is the thesis statement for Lou Ann Brubaker’s first AmplifyLTC class.
The founder of Brubaker Consulting dove deep into what makes a successful pharmacy team and how you can turn a group of individuals into a singular cohesive unit. Once you left this class, you knew how to make the team’s whole greater than the sum of its parts.
CEO of Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition Alan Rosenbloom talked about all things legislation in the LTC realm. Simply put, the road ahead is daunting, whether we’re looking at DIR fees, PBM reform, or provider status for pharmacists.
Even so, LTC pharmacies can roll with the punches and make the most out of any situation, no matter how grim. Alan’s class was a reminder of the current state of LTC pharmacy and the legislative challenges that await it.

All dressed up and everywhere to go, KODOCARE CEO Chad Kodiak dove deep into vaccines within the LTC sphere. Taking a holistic and logistical approach to vaccines, Chad showed attendees the full value of vaccines in LTC pharmacy. Simply put, LTC pharmacies are pharmacies still, so provide services that make your patients lead a happier and healthier life.
What’s more, Chad kicked off AmplifyLTC Saturday with his trademark charisma and likeability — no wonder he was once an actor in his previous life (but don’t ask him about it).

Who better to end a streak of brilliant classes than Thomas Hanzel? His class, “Achieving Sustainable Growth and Profitability,” explored the ins and outs of running a successful LTC business and the importance of innovation.
Referencing success stories from Walt Disney, Henry Ford, and Michael Jordan, the CEO of Hanzel Health, LLC emphasized that success is never a straight line: it is a series of trial and error with a heavy helping of resilience.
Evoking the rise and fall of business giants like Blockbuster, Blackberry, and Kodak, Thomas painted a vivid picture of the importance of innovation and adaptability. Such is the case for your pharmacy — move forward and your patients’ health journeys can get over any peak or valley.
